The Cross country season has begun! What an awesome start to the term with our first two events already run! Our cross country runners have done exceptionally well and we are expecting a number of learners to be selected for the North West Team who will be participating in Durban in September.
We also have a new coach, Mr Koos Pelser, who has joined Miss du Plessis in her training efforts and the training has increased in duration as well as effectiveness. We are exceptionally proud of our runners and their achievements so far but even more so of their unbelievable attitude and outstanding manner at the events!
We look forward to the next two events to be held in Orkney and Bloemfontein respectively. We will post the results as they are received. Good luck!
Cross country is one of the cheapest sports in the world…all you need is your feet. children who participate in cross country have a chance to experience real running and develop a incredible level of fitness and perserverance. We have a very successful and fun cross country program at Potch Central and have achieved well since we have started with all of our runners participating at National level. Children are taken to run outside the premises and experience the joy and thrill of running on various surfaces. In the next year we are planning on beginning trail running as part of the training for cross country. The children form a very special bond with the coaches who run with them, developing within the runners a sense of adventure and competition. We are a proud cross country team!
